ROUND 1 RESULTS & STANDINGS - WORLD FIRST SINGAPORE SCHOOLS UNDER 14 SEVENS SERIES 2016


It was an all ACS finals at Round 1 of the World First U14 Schools Sevens Series!

Congratulations ACS (Independent) for winning Round 1 of the World First U14 Schools Sevens Series. 

2 more rounds to go for the top 2 teams to book their place to play in the Sports Hub during the HSBC Singapore Sevens on 17th April 2016!

Round 1 of the World First Singapore Schools Under 14 Sevens Series 2016 kicks off this weekend, 12th March at PESEB (Ex CCAB, Evans Road). Top 2 schools from this 3 round tournament will play at the HSBC Singapore Sevens on 17th April 2016!

Team for 2015 Singapore Under 19 Announced


Congratulations to the following players for making the final cut for the 2015 Singapore (Standard Chartered National Rugby Academy) Under 19 Team. All of them are products of the Standard Chartered Bank National Rugby Academy. Clubs represented by these players are Saints RFC, Centaurs RFC, Wanderers RFC, Bedok Kings RFC, Singapore Cricket Club, Bucks RFC, Oldham Rugby.

Commonwealth Youth Games 2015 in Samoa


Our U18 7s team had an experience of a life time competing in the this year's Commonwealth Youth Games held in Samoa. And to top things off, Singapore got the first ever win for Rugby 7s in the Commonwealth Youth Games, winning Cayman Islands 24-0 in the 7th/8th placing match 24-0, in final day the Samoa CYG Rugby 7s Men's (U18), to put Singapore in 7th placing.

Team To Represent Singapore In 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games (Rugby 7s)


Singapore Rugby Union is pleased to announce the team to represent Team Singapore (Rugby 7s) at The Commonwealth Youth Games 2015 in Samoa.

The squad consisting of 3 officials and 12 athletes will depart Singapore for Apia, Samoa on 2nd September 2015, and returning to Singapore on 13th September 2015.

Results For Asia Rugby U20 Sevens Series 2015 (Malaysia)


U20 Men's 7s team came in Plate runners up, they did very well in the opening matches by beating Kazakhstan and UAE. However, the team lost to Chinese Taipei in the Cup Quarters and to Thailand in the Plate Final. 


 This is the first time Asia Rugby is running a women's tournament for U20 age group, as well as the first time Singapore is sending a U20 women's national team. It was a great experience for our girls playing against teams like Japan, Hong Kong and Thailand. Our girls came in 4th in the tournament.

SRU-SCNRA U15 Zonal 15 A Side Tournament 2015


As part of our initiative to create more competitive rugby environment for students in Secondary Schools; Singapore Rugby Union and Standard Chartered National Rugby Academy will be re-organizing the SRU-SCNRA Under 15 - 15 a side Zonal Tournament 2015. 

Results of the SRU-SCNRA U18 Inter-Tertiary 15 A Side Tournament 2015


1st Round - It was a close encounter for both matches with both Singapore Schools Teams winning their opening matches against Combined ITE and Combined Polytechnic Barbarians. In the 1st match, Singapore Schools B looked to be more dominant side throughout the game, leading the half 5-0, and finished off the game 16-5. In the 2nd match, it was anyone's game with both Singapore Schools A and Combined Polytechnic Barbarians Team putting constant pressure to each other. Heading into the 1st half 7-8 to Singapore Schools A with the lead. In the 2nd half, both teams added in a converted try each, but with Singapore Schools putting in an extra penalty kick to extend the lead 25-21. In the final minutes of the game, flyhalf Joshua Goh (ACS I) from Singapore Schools A attempted a drop goal 25m out and succeeded, extending the lead to 7 points difference, and with the drop goal successful, the full time score stood at 28-21, in favour of Singapore Schools A.

We are bringing it back! The SRU-SCNRA U15 Zonal 15 a side tournament!

The tournament where different schools from the same zones combine as one to compete against the other zones! The tournament in the past had helped to identify potential/future age group and even national players.

SRU-SCNRA U18 Inter-Tertiary 15 A Side Tournament 2015 (Team Profiles)


The Annual SRU-SCNRA U18 Inter-Tertiary 15 A Side Tournament kicks off on 10th June.

The tournament will also provide the SCNRA to identify potential players for the respective NRA age group programs coming up later this year. The tournament will see different 4 combined teams taking on each other, Singapore Schools A (U18), Singapore Schools B (U16), Combined ITE, Combined Polytechnic Barbarian.

With both Singapore Schools teams taking the top 2 position in last year's tournament, can they retain their titles this year?

Standard Chartered Bank Tag Rugby Carnival 2015


Standard Chartered Bank(SCB) Tag Rugby Carnival 2015 was held last friday at Peirce Secondary School. This is the first Tag Rugby Carnival of the year with a total of 140 boys and girls participating.

NRA U16 Select Program 2015

Our NRA Under 16 Select Program ended off in a good note with the team with a winning against Centaurs Under 16, on Saturday 18th April, 25-12. 

The players were selected from Teams in the National School's B Div Bowl and International School. A total of 54 players were shortlisted from 9 secondary schools and 5 international schools to participate in the program.

NRA Regional U14 Introduction Program 2015


With the National School's B Div (U17) Tournament on going. Our first SCNRA Program of the year kicked off today with the NRA Regional U14 Introduction Program on 17th March. 

The NRA Regional U14 Introduction Program brings selected players from the local schools together in providing them with the taste of academy rugby with the NRA.

Standard Chartered Bank Mini Rugby Tournament 2015 (Round 1)


On the 14th of February 2015 Singapore Rugby Union kicked off the year event for the Junior Rugby with its first tournament, Standard Chartered Bank Mini Rugby Tournament under 11 and under 13 (Round 1).

Singapore Crowned Champions For 2014 ARFU Under 19 Junior Championship Division 2


Singapore (Standard Chartered National Rugby Academy) Under 19 Team defeated Thailand, 22-5, in the finals of the 2014 ARFU Under 19 Junior Championship Division 2.

Singapore (Standard Chartered National Rugby Academy) Under 19 Team defeated host country Philippine on Wednesday in their opening match of the 2014 ARFU Under19 Junior Championship Division 2, 28-7.
