ROUND 1 RESULTS & STANDINGS - WORLD FIRST SINGAPORE SCHOOLS UNDER 14 SEVENS SERIES 2016


It was an all ACS finals at Round 1 of the World First U14 Schools Sevens Series!

Congratulations ACS (Independent) for winning Round 1 of the World First U14 Schools Sevens Series. 

2 more rounds to go for the top 2 teams to book their place to play in the Sports Hub during the HSBC Singapore Sevens on 17th April 2016!

ROUND 1 - WORLD FIRST SINGAPORE SCHOOLS UNDER 14 SEVENS SERIES 2016


Round 1 of the World First Singapore Schools Under 14 Sevens Series 2016 kicks off this weekend, 12th March at PESEB (Ex CCAB, Evans Road). Top 2 schools from this 3 round tournament will play at the HSBC Singapore Sevens on 17th April 2016!

2016 WADA Prohibited List


Please find attached the 2016 WADA Prohibited List of substances and methods prohibited in sport and applicable to Rugby effective from January 1, 2016.

Also attached are the following supporting documents:

  • 2016 Explanatory Notes (outlines the modifications from the 2015 Prohibited List to the 2016 Prohibited List)
  • 2016 Monitoring Programme (Outlines the substances placed on WADA’smonitoring programme)

The 2016 Prohibited List and the supporting documents are also available for download and reference on the World Rugby anti-doping website under the Resources tab www.keeprugbyclean.com

Team Singapore’s Route to Asia Rugby Olympic Qualifiers




Singapore’s Men will be travelling to Hong Kong for the Asia Rugby Olympic Qualifiers today, 5th November 2015. After completing the Asia Rugby Sevens Series 2015 last month, Singapore is currently ranked as one of the top 7 teams in Asia. The team even capped off their best performance ever at the Societe Generale Singapore Cricket Club (SCC) International Rugby 7s 2015 by reaching the Plates Quarter Finals last weekend. Singapore’s Men will look to carry on their good form at the Asia Rugby Olympic Qualifiers where they are grouped with South Korea, China, Chinese Taipei and Rugby World Cup Nation, Japan.

Commonwealth Youth Games 2015 in Samoa


Our U18 7s team had an experience of a life time competing in the this year's Commonwealth Youth Games held in Samoa. And to top things off, Singapore got the first ever win for Rugby 7s in the Commonwealth Youth Games, winning Cayman Islands 24-0 in the 7th/8th placing match 24-0, in final day the Samoa CYG Rugby 7s Men's (U18), to put Singapore in 7th placing.

Team To Represent Singapore In 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games (Rugby 7s)


Singapore Rugby Union is pleased to announce the team to represent Team Singapore (Rugby 7s) at The Commonwealth Youth Games 2015 in Samoa.

The squad consisting of 3 officials and 12 athletes will depart Singapore for Apia, Samoa on 2nd September 2015, and returning to Singapore on 13th September 2015.

Results For Asia Rugby U20 Sevens Series 2015 (Malaysia)


U20 Men's 7s team came in Plate runners up, they did very well in the opening matches by beating Kazakhstan and UAE. However, the team lost to Chinese Taipei in the Cup Quarters and to Thailand in the Plate Final. 


 This is the first time Asia Rugby is running a women's tournament for U20 age group, as well as the first time Singapore is sending a U20 women's national team. It was a great experience for our girls playing against teams like Japan, Hong Kong and Thailand. Our girls came in 4th in the tournament.

SRU Youth Club 7s 2015 (Under 18 & Under 20)


Congratulations to Saints RFC Under 18 Team and Singapore Cricket Club Under 20 Team for winning this year's SRU Youth Club 7s (Under 18 & Under 20) held on 27th and 28th June, at Yio Chu Kang stadium.

Well done to all teams! And we will see you all back again for Round 1 of the SRU Club 7s 2015 on 11th and 12th July, at Yio Chu Kang stadium.

28th SEA Games Rugby 7s


Congratulations and well done to our Mens and Womens 7s team! You made Singapore proud!

Our Mens Team displayed great character and spirit to beat Thailand to the Bronze medal after losing to them in the preliminaries.

Our Womens Team only losing to the Thailand team in the competition won us the Silver!

SEA Games Rugby 7s Jersey Presentation

Our Mens and Womens 7s team were presented with their SEA Games jerseys this morning. Rugby President Mr Low Teo Ping was present to address the teams and ensured that morale is kept high. All the best to both teams for their competition tomorrow! 

Singapore Rugby Union Tertiary 7s & Womens Development 7s 2015



The Singapore Rugby Union (SRU) Tertiary 7s & Womens Development 7s tournament took place last Saturday at the new Nanyang Technological University multi-purpose field. A total of 13 teams comprising of Polytechnics, Institute of Technical Education and Universities participated in the competition.
